Bioinformatics analysis of ferroptosis-related gene expression profile in primary open angle glaucoma / 国际眼科杂志(Guoji Yanke Zazhi)

AIM:To investigate the ferroptosis-related key genes in the progression of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)through bioinformatics analysis, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the biological mechanism of ferroptosis in POAG.METHODS: The GSE27276 dataset, derived from the trabecular meshwork, was obtained from the GEO database. It consisted of 19 trabecular meshwork tissue samples and 17 normal trabecular meshwork tissue samples. The ferroptosis-related genes were obtained from the FerrDb database. Then the GSE27276 dataset with the ferroptosis gene set was mapped, differentially expressed ferroptosis-related genes(DE-FRGs)were identified in POAG, and the correlation analysis was performed. Additionally, the gene ontology(GO)function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways of DE-FRGs were further analyzed. This study utilized two machine learning algorithms, namely the LASSO regression model and the SVM-RFE model, to identify the ferroptosis-related key genes of POAG. The screening results from both models were intersected to identify the most significant genes. The clinical diagnostic performance of these genes was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC); the gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA)and gene set variation analysis(GSVA)were conducted on the most significant genes; the expression levels of these genes were validated using the GSE2378 and GSE9944 datasets obtained from the optic nerve head.RESULTS: In comparison to normal trabecular meshwork tissue, a total of 396 ferroptosis genes exhibited differential expression in POAG trabecular meshwork tissue. Among these, 39 genes were up-regulated while 64 genes were down-regulated. Spearman correlation analysis revealed certain correlation between the up-regulated genes and the down-regulated genes. The GO function and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis revealed that the differential genes were primarily enriched in the oxidative stress response and ferroptosis pathways. A total of 18 DE-FRGs were identified as key genes using LASSO and SVM-RFE algorithms, which demonstrated a higher diagnostic value. GSEA and GSVA revealed a significant association between GDF15, MFN2, and OTUB1 genes with the glutathione metabolic pathway. Moreover, it was observed that MFN2 activated the glutathione metabolic pathway in the high expression group, while OTUB1 activated it in the low expression group. The cross-validation of GSE2378 and GSE9944 datasets revealed a significant increase in the expression level of CREB1 in optic nerve specimens compared to normal optic nerve specimens, and it was consistent with the expression observed in trabecular meshwork samples from the GSE27276 dataset.CONCLUSION: Based on bioinformatics analysis, a total of 396 DE-FRGs were identified in POAG. By constructing a machine screening model and cross-validation of external datasets, CREB1 is expected to be the best characteristic gene for potential diagnostic biomarker, and provide targets for further elucidating the molecular mechanism and the diagnosis of ferroptosis in POAG. However, further in vivo and in vitro validation is required to elucidate the biological mechanism of ferroptosis in POAG.

The correlation between electronic cigarette use and environmental exposure to electronic cigarette among residents in Guangzhou City / 预防医学

Objective@#To evaluate the correlation between electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use and environmental e-cigarette exposure among residents living in Guangzhou City, so as to provide the evidence for the development of the e-cigarette control policy.@*Methods@#Permanent university students living in Guangzhou City were recruited as investigators from July to October 2021, and the permanent adult residents in communities where the university students lived were randomly selected as participants. Subjects' demographic features, e-cigarette use, passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising were collected using both online and offline questionnaire surveys, and the association of e-cigarette use with passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising were examined using a multivariable logistic regression model.@*Results@# A total of 948 questionnaires were allocated, and 874 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 92.19%. The respondents had a mean age of ( 34.96±13.76 ) years. There were 420 men ( 48.05% ), and 426 married residents ( 48.80% ). The prevalence of e-cigarette use was 14.99%, and the rate of e-cigarette use was 23.81% in men and 6.83% in women. In addition, 27.27% of respondents at ages of 35 to 44 years used e-cigarette, 479 respondents viewed e-cigarette advertising ( 54.81% ) and 510 respondents had at least once passive viewing of e-cigarette use ( 58.35% ). Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that a higher frequency of exposure to e-cigarette advertising ( OR: 3.064-5.784, 95%CI: 1.683-12.620 ) and a higher frequency of passive viewing of e-cigarette use ( OR: 2.182-2.349, 95%CI: 1.094-4.526 ) led to a higher rate of e-cigarette use.@*Conclusions@#E-cigarette use is affected by passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising among community residents in Guangzhou City. Supervision and restriction is recommended for e-cigarette advertising, marketing, and use in public places.

Design and application of auxiliary isolation device of cupping therapy for cross-infection prevention / 中国针灸

An auxiliary isolation device of cupping therapy for cross-infection prevention is designed to reduce the disinfection steps and be against cross transmission. This device is composed of a disposable isolation unit made of fire proof plastic material and a disposable cup-mouth fixator made of elastic material. The disposable isolation unit includes two parts, the cup neck isolation unit and the inner isolation unit of fire cup. These two parts connect with the disposable cup-mouth fixator. All of those three sections of the device are center-connected ring-like structure. This device can well prevent the direct contact of fire cup with the patient's skin surface, characterized as safety protection, simple operation and saving time and manpower.

Effects of Different Interventions on Activation Mode of Trapezius Muscle during Exercise / 中国康复理论与实践

Objective:To analyze the activation characteristics of trapezius muscle in normal people, and explore whether different interventions could restore the activation pattern of people with abnormal trapezius muscles to normal during subsequent exercises. Methods:From September to October, 2017, 20 persons with normal shoulder joints (control group) and 20 persons with mild discomfort in shoulder joints (observation group) participated in the study. All of them were treated randomly with four steps, including no intervention, static traction of upper trapezius muscle (UT), isometric contraction of lower trapezius muscle (LT) and combined intervention. Then, they were asked to complete three actions, including straight arm side lifting, sitting in rowing and flying birds. Myoelectric signal was recorded before and after test. Results:Compared with the control group, the UT activation degree increased (P < 0.05), and the activation time shortened (P < 0.05); the activation degrees of middle trapezius muscle (MT) and LT decreased (P < 0.05), and the activation time delayed (P < 0.05); the ratios of UT/LT and UT/MT increased (P < 0.05) in the observation group with no intervention. After static traction of UT, isometric contraction of LT, and both interventions, the MVE%, activation time and the ratios of activation varied in different muscles under different actions in both groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion:In different actions, the activation degree and activation time of three trapezius muscles are different. Static traction of UT and isometric contraction of LT before exercise could improve the activation pattern of trapezius muscles of people with shoulder joint discomfort during exercise, which is conducive to the normal function of the shoulder joint.

Comparison of three internal fixation methods for distal femoral fractures of Müller types C2 and C3 / 中华创伤骨科杂志

Objective:To compare 3 internal fixation methods for the treatment of distal femoral fractures of Müller types C2 and C3.Methods:The clinical data of 58 patients were retrospectively analyzed who had been treated for distal femoral fractures of Müller types C2 and C3 at Department of Orthopaedic Trauma, Ningbo No. 6 Hospital from February 2013 to February 2017. They were divided into 3 groups according to the internal fixation method they had used. In the single incision locking plate group (group A) of 21 cases, there were 13 males and 8 females with an age of 50.6 years±12.9 years. In the double-incision locking plate combined with reconstruction plate group (group B) of 18 cases, there were 11 males and 7 females with an age of 53.5 years±13.0 years. In the single incision locking plate combined with reconstruction plate group(group C) of 19 cases, there were 10 males and 9 females with an age of 48.1 years±12.2 years. The 3 groups were compared in terms of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative C-arm fluoroscopy, fracture healing time, incidence of postoperative complications, range of motion of the knee and knee functional recovery.Results:The 3 groups were compatible because there were no significant differences between them in their preoperative general data ( P>0.05). There were no significant differences between groups in the frequency of C-arm fluoroscopy, follow-up time, or incidence of postoperative complications ( P>0.05). The operation time in groups A and C (96.7 min±16.4 min and 101.9 min±16.5 min) and intraoperative blood loss for groups A and C (237.8 mL±47.5 mL and 253.6 mL±46.6 mL) were significantly less than in group B (114.9 min±20.1 min and 290.1 mL±60.9 mL) ( P<0.05); the fracture healing time for groups B and C (6.9 months±1.6 months and 6.6 months±1.7 months) was significantly shorter than for group A (8.4 months±1.9 months) ( P<0.05); the ranges of knee motion 12 months after operation in groups B and C (91.7°±16.7° and 90.9°±14.4°) were significantly larger than that in group A (78.8°±14.4°) ( P<0.05); the excellent and good rates of knee function 12 months after operation in groups B and C [77.8% (14/18) and 73.7% (14/19)] were significantly higher than that in group A [57.1%(12/21)] ( P<0.05). Conclusion:In the treatment of distal femoral fractures of Müller types C2 and C3, application of lateral locking plate and additional anterior locking reconstruction plate via the anterolateral incision at the distal femur can achieve rigid fixation without much damage to the surrounding soft tissues and lead to fine functional recovery of the knee joint because it has the advantages of single incision locking plate and double incision medial and lateral locking plates.

Clinical effect of perforated Kirschner wire tension band in the treatment of olecranon fractures in adults / 中华创伤杂志

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of perforated kirschner wire tension band in the treatment of olecranon fractures in adults.Methods:A retrospective case-control study was conducted on 56 adult patients with olecranon fractures admitted in Ningbo NO.6 Hospital from May 2013 to February 2017. The perforated Kirschner wire tension band fixation was used in Group A ( n=24), while the common Kirschner wire tension band fixation was used in Group B ( n=32). Group A was composed of 16 males and 8 females at age of (34.0±12.1)years, and Group B was composed of 19 males and 13 females at age of (36.5±11.4)years. According to the Mayo classification, there were 7 patients with type I and 17 with type II in Group A, 15 with type I and 17 with type II in Group B. The operation time, bleeding volume, X transmission times, postoperative visual analogue score (VAS), fracture union time, loosening or failure of internal fixation, skin irritation and elbow joint function Broberg-Morrey score were compared between the two groups. Results:All patients were followed up for 15-21 months (mean, 18 months). In Group A, the operation time, bleeding volume, Xray transmission times, fracture union time and skin irritation were (79.6±22.5)minutes, (111.3±26.2)ml, (7.2±2.2)times, (3.7±0.6)months, 1 case, respectively. In Group B, the operation time, intraoperative hemorrhage, transmission times, fracture healing time and skin irritation were (94.3±27.5)minutes, (152.0±31.4)ml, (11.0±3.4)times, (4. 7±2.2)months, 9 cases, respectively. The difference between the two groups were all significant ( P<0.05). There were no significant difference in VAS, failure of internal fixation and elbow function Broberg-Morrey score between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Compared with the anatomic plate, the perforated Kirschner wire tension band in the treatment of adult patients with olecranon fractures cannot only reduce the operation time and transmission times, reduce the intraoperative bleeding volume, but also shorten the fracture union time and avoid the occurrence of skin irritation and other complications.

Discussion on Applying Removing Blood Stasis and Body Fluid Therapy as Principal of Treating Orthopedics and Traumatology Diseases / 中国中医药信息杂志

Blood stasis is mostly seen as the etiology and pathogenesis of orthopedics and traumatology diseases, among which the theory that retention of body fluid comes from blood stasis is the most classical one. Thus, it is meaningful to find out whether the mutual blockage of blood stasis and the body fluid is the key point of orthopedics and traumatology diseases. By consulting the ancient books, the significance of removing blood stasis and body fluid therapy was verified from different aspects, and removing blood stasis and body fluid therapy was proposed to be the principle of treating orthopedics and traumatology diseases.

Relationship between overnight urinary sodium to potassium ratio and the risk of cardiovascular disease / 中华心血管病杂志

Objective@#To explore the relationship between overnight urinary sodium to potassium ratio and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).@*Methods@#A subsample of 10 percent of the participants (35-59 years old) from the People's Republic of China-United States Collaborative Study of Cardiovascular and Cardiopulmonary Epidemiology (prospective survey) were used. Three consecutive overnight urine samples were collected in the autumn of 1983-1984 and the spring in 1985-1986, respectively. Urinary sodium and potassium were detected and calculated for 8 hours excretion. The occurrences of cardiovascular events were recorded in 2 years interval from 1987-1988 until December 31, 2005. Participants were divided into first ratio group, second ratio group, and third ratio group based on the tertiles of sodium to potassium ratio. Cox proportional hazard regression model was used to determine the relationship between sodium to potassium ratio and risk of CVD. In addition, participants were divided into 2 subgroups by the median of overnight urinary sodium and potassium, and then combined each other for 4 subgroups including low sodium-low potassium group, low sodium-high potassium group, high sodium-low potassium group, and high sodium-high potassium group, to explore the relationship between different sodium-potassium combinations and the risk of CVD.@*Results@#A total of 954 participants were included in the final analysis, of whom 459 (48.1%) were males. There were 318 cases in the first, second and third ratio group, respectively. There were 347 cases in low sodium-low potassium group and high sodium-high potassium group, and 130 cases in low sodium-high potassium group and high sodium-low potassium group. After a median follow-up of 18.6 (18.3, 19.3) years, cardiovascular events occurred in 81 participants, including 64 stroke and 20 coronary heart disease events. Multivariate analysis showed that comparing with the first ratio group, the hazard ratios (HR) in the second and the third ratio groups were 2.04 (95%CI 1.06-3.95, P=0.034) and 2.07 (95%CI 1.07-4.03, P=0.032), respectively. The CVD risk in low sodium-low potassium group was 24% higher than the low sodium-high potassium group (reference), but this result did not reach statistical significant level (P=0.685). The risks in high sodium-high potassium group (HR=3.32, 95%CI 1.26-8.76,P=0.015) and high sodium-low potassium (HR=3.04, 95%CI 1.05-8.83, P=0.041) group were both significantly increased.@*Conclusions@#Overnight urinary sodium to potassium ratio is positively correlated with the risk of cardiovascular events. High urinary sodium plays a more important role for the increased risk of cardiovascular events than low potassium.

Proximal humeral internal locking system combined with fibular strut allograft for treatment of Neer 3-and 4-part factures of proximal humerus in the elderly / 中华创伤骨科杂志

Objective To compare proximal humeral internal locking system (PHILOS) combined with fibular strut allograft versus simple PHILOS for the treatment of Neer 3-and 4-part factures of proximal humerus in the elderly.Methods A retrospective study was conducted of 157 elderly patients with Neer 3-or 4-part facture of proximal humerus who had been treated at Department of Orthopaedics,Ningbo No.6 Hospital from May 2013 to October 2016.They were 76 males and 81 females,aged from 60 to 88 years (average,76.1 years).According to the Neer classification,100 cases were 3-part fractures and 57 4-part fractures.Of them,35 were treated by PHILOS combined with fibular strut allograft (group A) and 122 by PHILOS alone (group B).At the last follow-up,the 2 groups were compared in terms of shoulder joint activity (anteflexion,abduction,internal rotation and external rotation),visual analogue scale (VAS),American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score,Constant-Murley score,postoperative height loss of the humeral head,humeral head varus angle,complication rate and secondary surgery rate.Results The 157 patients were followed up for 12 to 22 months (mean,16.8 months).The fracture healing time was 13.0 ± 3.8 weeks in group A and 15.6 ± 4.2 weeks in group B,showing a statistically significant difference (P ＜ 0.05).At the last follow-up,for groups A and B respectively,anteflexion was 135.6° ± 17.7° versus 125.4° ± 23.6°,abduction 132.5°±22.7° versus 117.5°±32.7°,external rotation 30.2°± 18.7° versus 21.6°± 17.2°,internal rotation T9 versus T11,VAS score 0.6 ±0.9 points versus 0.9 ± 1.2 points,ASES score 90.2 ±6.8 points versus 82.2 ± 12.3 points,Constant-Murley score 88.5 ±3.6 points versus 72 ±4.9 points,postoperative height loss of the humeral head 0.9 ± 0.1 mm versus 4.2 ± 0.4 mm,and humeral head varus angle 1.2° ± 0.2° versus 4.5° ± 1.9°.The differences between the 2 groups were all statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).There were no significant differences between the 2 groups in complication rate [14.28％ (5/35) versus 22.13％ (27/122)] or in secondary operation rate[2.85％ (1/35) versus 8.19％ (27/122)] (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions In the treatment of Neer 3-and 4-part factures of proximal humerus in the elderly,PHILOS combined with fibular strut allograft can improve therapeutic efficacy,because it can provide good support for the medial column of the proximal humerus and the humeral head and thus facilitate the intraoperative reduction of the fracture.

Clinical significance of lncRNA combined with pepsinogen in patients with gastric cancer / 中国综合临床

Objective To investigate the clinical value of long chain non-coding RNA ( lncRNA) combined with pepsinogen in the detection of gastric cancer. Methods Totally eighty-six gastric cancer patients hospitalized in Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital from June 2014 to June 2017 were selected as the gastric cancer group. Another 86 patients who had no obvious abnormalities in the stomach during the same period were selected as the control group. Univariate analysis was used to compare the differences in baseline data and Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA),carcinoembryonic antigen 19-9 (CA19-9),pepsinogen I (PGⅠ), pepsinogen II (PGⅡ) and lncRNA BC200 between the two groups. Univariate analysis was applied to analyze the differences of the baseline date between the two groups and to select the statistically significant factors which are further detected by multivariate logistic regression analysis. Meanwhile,the correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the above-mentioned factors and traditional variables. Furthermore, the sensitivity and specificity of these factors in the value of diagnosing gastric cancer was calculated by ROC curve. Results The level of CEA (2. 84(1. 63- 8. 45) μg/ L),CA19-9(9. 05(5. 89- 29. 47) U/ ml) and lncRNA BC200(1. 872(1. 125-2. 611) in the gastric cancer group were significantly higher than those in the control group (CEA (1. 26(0. 87-2. 66) μg/ L,CA19-9(6. 42(4. 32-9. 86) U/ ml,lncRNA BC200( 1. 006 (0. 594-1. 282))(U= 3684,4782,2764;P<0. 001,P<0. 001,P = 0. 007); while the levels of PGⅠ(68. 3 (51. 2-89. 4) μg/ L ) and PGⅡ(18. 85(10. 06-29. 37) μg/ L) in the gastric cancer group were lower than those in the control group ( PGⅠ(115. 1(81. 7 - 166. 0) μg/ L,PGⅡ(23. 38(13. 72 - 34. 09) μg/ L) ( P<0. 001). Multivariate logistic analysis showed that CA19-9 (OR = 1. 206,95%CI 1. 302-1. 375,P = 0. 039), PGⅠ (OR= 1. 300,95%CI 1. 224-1. 623,P= 0. 023),PGⅡ (OR = 1. 208,95%CI 1. 002-1. 501,P = 0. 044) and lncRNA BC200 (OR = 1. 276,95%CI 1. 008 ~ 1. 107,P = 0. 020) had significant effects on gastric cancer and PGⅠ had the highest degree of influence. Spearman rank correlation showed that there was a positive correlation between lncRNA BC200 and CA19-9,and the difference was statistically significant (rs = 0. 891,P<0. 05); while PGⅠ (rs= -0. 482,P = 0. 026) and PGⅡ (rs = -0. 531,P = 0. 014) were negative correlated with CA19-9. The ROC curve indicated that the area under the ROC curve of lncRNA BC200 combined with PGⅠ,lncRNA BC200 combined with PGⅡ and CA19-9 in the detection of gastric cancer were 0. 844,0. 783 and 0. 721 respectively. The AUC (Area Under Curve) of lncRNA BC200 combined with PGⅠ was the highest,with a sensitivity of 53. 5% and a specificity of 100% . Conclusion LncRNA BC200 combined with PGⅠ can detect the existence of gastric cancer to a certain extent, and has a certain clinical diagnostic value, thus providing a theoretical basis for further diagnosis of early gastric cancer.

Effect of arthroscopic assisted balloon angioplasty in patients with tibial plateau fractures and its effect on limb function / 中国内镜杂志

Objective To investigate the effect of arthroscopic balloon angioplasty on the recovery of limb function in patients with tibial plateau fractures (FTP). Methods Sixty-eight patients with FTP were enrolled from April 2015 to August 2016. The patients were divided into control group (traditional incisional surgery) and observation group (arthroscopic balloon angioplasty) by random number method. The efficacy and the recovery of limb function in patients of the two groups,with a retrospective analysis. Results The excellent operative rate (92.18%) in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (70.59%), and the operative rate was significantly higher than that in control group (P < 0.05). The surgical parameters (the amount of bleeding, the time of operation, the time of getting out of bed and the postoperative flowrate) in observation group were significantly better than those in control group. The SF-36 score of observation group was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of arthroplasty with bronchial angioplasty, the curative effect is more accurate, which can improve the patient's limb function and improve the patients.

NT-proBNP,Hcy and hs-CRP levels in patients with acute coronary syndromes and its clinical significance / 国际检验医学杂志

Objective To investigate the levels of N-terminal B-type brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proB-NP) ,homocysteine (Hcy) and high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) in serum of patients with acute coronary syndromes and clinical significance .Methods Twenty hundred patients with acute coronary syn-dromes were enrolled in our hospital from March 2016 to February 2017 .Fifty patients with healthy subjects were selected as control .Serum samples were collected and immunocytochemistry Serum levels of NT-proB-NP ,Hcy and hs-CRP were measured by cyclic enzyme method and immunoturbidimetric turbidimetric assay . Results The levels of NT-proBNP ,Hcy and hs-CRP in serum of patients with acute coronary syndromes were significantly higher than those of healthy subjects .The positive rate of serum test was 91 .50% .The more seri-ous the disease and the higher the number of coronary lesions The levels of NT-proBNP ,Hcy and hs-CRP in patients with acute coronary syndromes were higher .Conclusion The combination of three serum markers coronary artery syndrome in the clinical diagnosis and treatment has important reference value .

Clinical Features and Prognostic Risk Factors of Choroid Plexus Tumors in Children / 中华医学杂志(英文版)

Background@#Decision-making concerning the treatment of choroid plexus tumor (CPT) in pediatric patients remains a topic of considerable debate. The aim of this work was to describe clinical features and prognostic risk factors of CPT in the pediatric population and to provide theoretical opinions regarding clinical decisions for CPT.@*Methods@#The data of 96 patients with CPT and younger than 14 years were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical characteristics such as pathological type of CPTs, rate and severity of hydrocephalus, treatment and outcome, and recurrence were investigated. For categorical variables, the Pearson's Chi-square test was performed. The Mann-Whitney U-test was used for comparisons between nonnormally distributed parameters. Log-rank test was used for progression-free survival (PFS).@*Results@#The study included 70 choroid plexus papilloma (CPP) cases, 17 atypical choroid plexus papilloma (aCPP) cases, and 9 choroid plexus carcinoma (CPC) cases. Compared with patients with CPP or aCPP, patients with CPC had a shorter disease course (median: CPP, 4 months; aCPP, 2 months; CPC, 1 month; H: 23.5, P 0.05). Patients with CPC experienced shorter time for recurrence than those with CPP or aCPP (χ = 40.1, P < 0.0001).@*Conclusions@#Our results indicated that CPP in the fourth ventricle could trigger serious clinical symptoms at an early stage, requiring early intervention. Adjuvant treatment might be necessary for patients with partially resected CPP, aCPP, and CPC to achieve a favorable outcome.

The research explored to identify risk factors affecting sexual function and the prognosis of male patients with pituitary adenomas. Two hundred and fifty-four male patients, who aged between 18 and 60 (mean ± s.d.: 44.16 ± 10.14) years and diagnosed with pituitary adenomas, were retrospectively analyzed. One hundred and fifty-nine patients (62.6%) complained of SD prior to surgery. The mean International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) in patients with giant adenomas was 16.13 ± 2.51, much smaller than those with microadenomas or macroadenomas (P 0.05). Our results indicated that surgical therapy could be optimized for improvements in SD and that testosterone levels can be used as a sensitive indicator to predict the recovery rate of sexual function in patients with pituitary adenomas following surgery and the serum testosterone level will stay stable in 6 months after surgery.

Effects of Chinese herbal compound "Jisuikang" on phagocytosis of microglia and regeneration of injured neurons in co-culture system / 中国免疫学杂志

Objective:To observe the effects of Chinese herbal compound'Jisuikang'on the phagocytosis of microglia and the regeneration of injured neurons in co-culture system.Methods: Prepared drug serum of 'Jisuikang′ and isolated and identified the primary neuron and microglia.The neuron cells were induced apoptosis by glutamic acid and the microglia cells were predisposed by drug serum of'Jisuikang'.Then,the co-culture system of injured neurons and microglia cells was established.24 h and 96 h after co-culture,engulfment of neuron debris by microglia cells and regeneration of injured neurons were observed by immunofluorescence double labeling method.Results: 24 h after co-culture,middle and high dose of'Jisuikang' showed greater phagocytic percentage and phagocytic index than that of control.In comparison of LPS,high dose of'Jisuikang' showed no significant difference.96 h after co-culture,first grade of neuritis of middle and high dose of'Jisuikang' were more than that of control,and there were no significant difference in comparison of LPS.Neuritis' mean length per cell of middle and high dose of'Jisuikang' were larger than that of con-trol.Neuritis' mean length per cell of high dose of'Jisuikang' showed significant difference in comparison of LPS.Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine compound'Jisuikang'may enhance engulfment of neuron debris by microglia to improve local microenvi-ronment,which promote the repair and regeneration of injured neurons.

Experimental study on the effect of moxibustion at Shenque (CV 8) for long-term exercise-induced fatigue / 针灸推拿医学（英文版）

Objective: To investigate the effect of moxibustion at Shenque (CV 8) on fatigue in rats with chronic exercise-induced exhaustion. Methods: Thirty male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into a blank group, a model group and a moxibustion group, 10 rats in each group. Except rats in the blank group, the remaining rats were subjected to create long-term exhaustion models by repeated swimming. After successful modeling, rats in the moxibustion group received mild moxibustion at Shenque (CV 8) for 15 min, once every other day with a total of 10 times. Rats in the model group and the blank group did not receive moxibustion. At the end of the treatment, the exhausted times, and the body weight of rats before and after the experiment were compared among groups. The levels of blood malondialdehyde (MDA) and urea nitrogen (BUN), as well as the activities of aspartate transarninase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were also measured by the automatic biochemical analyzer, 24 h after the exhausting excise. Results: The 10th swimming time was significantly longer in the moxibustion group than that in the model group (P<0.01). The increase rate of the body weight was lower in the rats of the moxibustion group than that in the model group before the 7th and the 10th exhausting excise (P<0.05, P<0.01). The levels of serum MDA and BUN, as well as the activities of AST, ALT and LDH in the model group were higher than those in the blank group (all P<0.01). The levels of serum MDA and BUN, as well as the activities of AST, ALT and LDH in the moxibustion group were lower than those in the model group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Moxibustion at Shenque (CV 8) can decrease the serum levels of MDA and BUN, as well as activities of AST, ALT and LDH in the long-term fatigue rats, thus to improve the symptoms of fatigue.

Performance verification of the detection of serum copper in Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer / 中国基层医药

Objective To evaluate the performance verification of serum copper detected by Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer.Methods Referring to CLSI files and other documents,the precision,accuracy,analysis of measuring range and reference interval of serum copper from Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer were verified.Results The coefficient of variations (CV) of within-run precision with high and low values were 2.96％,2.91％,respectively;CV of the between-run precision with high and low values were 3.07％,2.99％,respectively,which were all less than the CV provided by the manufacturer (10.00％).The bias between detection results and target value were 1.78％ and 1.56％,respectively,which were all within the measurement range of quality assessment.Analysis of measuring range of the detected items was in line with the linear range provided by the specification.The quotative biological reference range conformed to the group of this laboratory services.ConclusionThe main analytic characteristic of serum copper measurement by Roche Cobas 8000 automatic biochemical analyzer is consistent with acceptable quality standards,and the experimental evaluation project of CLSI shows maneuverability and practicability.

Differences in gait characteristics of women walking with and without sports bra / 医用生物力学

Objective To compare the differences in gait characteristics and stability of women walking with or without sports bra. Methods Twelve women with C cup breast were required to walk on the treadmill (at the speed of 6 km/h) with and without sports bras, respectively. Their gait parameters were collected by using Qualisys Track Manager high-speed infrared motion capture system. Results Compared with the bare-breasted condition, the maximum and minimum angles of the upper trunk were significantly smaller when subjects wearing the sports bra, the range of trunk flexion angles and trunk torsion angles were also relatively smaller, and the standard deviation of hip flexion angles during 10 gait cycles was obviously smaller. However, no differences were found in stride frequency between two breast support conditions. Conclusions Different breast support conditions have a significant influence on the upper trunk angle, trunk flexion angle and trunk torsion angle. Walking without bra will increase the range of trunk angle and deteriorate the walking stability. The stride frequencies under different breast support conditions have individual differences.

Acute Stanford type A aortic dissection with important branches involved is more complex, could lead to organ malperfusion syndrome even organ failure. The understanding of pathological anatomy, classification, staging, and the pathophysiological change has increasingly mature, but not complete. In addition, the treatment strategy for complex lesions is diversified, some questions may not reach consensus. Fully understanding of the anatomical and pathophysiology is very important for surgeons to choose reasonable treatment strategy. As the rapid development of the basic research, imaging techniques and the concept of surgery procedures, the manage technique of Stanfrod type A dissection and branch vessels at the same time is getting seriously, the related issues also need further discussions.
